What would be your immediate thoughts as a senior manager of a global company after you have secure to the best you can the safety of your employees?
As a senior manager of a global company, my immediate thoughts would be how well trained are my employees in the cultural effects of globalization. I understand that I need to know what our product is, who the customers are, where our recourses are coming from, and what the culture is like in the areas we are selling our products. We live in a world of diversity, and I want to make sure we uphold and respect our customers cultures. In order for the company to be a success, we need to understand the process of the World Trade Organization. I will want to know how our imports and exports are being utilized. For example, is our company obeying all the rules and regulations for trade, and are we doing everything we can to stay environmentally friendly through global trades. I would also think about the training I would like my employees to go through. My employees would need to know the cultures of where they work, along with the manners, customs and courtesies of that location. My immediate thoughts would be, are we doing everything in our power to extend our company’s potential, as well as respecting our other nations cultures.

Globalization in today’s world focuses on economics, politics, and cultures of countries around the world. I think we are living in a time where globalization is highly influenced by technology. In the past, people could not communicate, move products, or move money with ease like you can today. Technology plays the largest role in globalization today. For example, if you have the money, you can rent a vehicle, drive half way across the country in a day and then buy a plane ticket to a country on the other side of the world and do it all in a matter of 48-72 hours. This is not something that used to be possible so quickly. Technology puts possibilities at our finger tips and allows for people to connect throughout the world without difficulty.
I also find that globalization has a large impact today on how news is spread so quickly. With social media, news outlets that stream or broadcast throughout the world, the internet, and other channels of information, word spreads fast throughout the world. Whether it is a new product or a new way of doing something, the idea or announcement can spread so quickly, just as a person or money can be moved so quickly in today’s society
